Controlled by his iphone, they enabled him to do things he really loved -- like programming the GPS coordinates of places where he often encountered noisy children -- and having them be automatically "tuned out" the next time he visited, and listening to NPR (or car races) totally wirelessly via the hearing aids (so that I'd be trying to tell him something, not knowing that his lack of response was often due to track conditions, etc.!).||
